Application Process
Performance Length: 2-5 Minutes*
Students must be Costumed
Performance Language: must be based on Shakespeare’s text, feel free to cut scripts for length or adapt.
Performance must be memorized.
Performance must be previewed.

Performance must be inspired by Shakespeare, English Renaissance, or Elizabethan Era.

*2-5 minute recommendation for scene length is based on a cast size of 2-6 students, for larger groups (abridged versions, including multiple scenes) performances may exceed this recommendation.
Sign up for the DPS Shakespeare Festival below. Once you have submitted the form, you’ll receive an email prompting you to schedule your school’s preview workshop with a Denver Center teaching artist. Preview workshops will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis, and are required in order to participate in the Festival. During the preview workshop each scene will be provided feedback aligned to this performance rubric or musical performance rubric for them to use and implement as they continue towards the festival.
